It is way too easy to get caught up in the hustle bustle of shopping for hours (especially if it's last minute) without taking time to stop and eat. It is completely understandable, given that you just want to get your shopping finished. However, you know what this can lead to, right? The potential to get HANGRY (an amalgam of hungry and angry that describes being irritable due to hunger)!
Eat Healthy While You Shop!
You certainly don't have to stop for a 3-course meal; as a matter of fact, you don't even have to stop at all! There are so many options available for you to conveniently pack right in your bag and eat on-the-go! Plus, it's better to pack these healthy snacks from your home than it is to grab something unhealthy from the mall as a convenient resort. All it takes is a little preparation or just a simple reminder to yourself to pack your snacks.
Here are some of our favorite healthy snacks to give you that little extra boost of energy to finish your shopping with ease!
- Greek yogurt with granola or piece of fruit
- hard-boiled Eggs
- protein shake
- apple with nut butter
- granola bar
- celery with nut butter and raisins ("ants on a log")
- pre-apportioned trail mix (for serving control)
- rice cakes
- hummus with fresh veggies, pita, or crackers
- wrap filled with lean protein, such as turkey or tuna
- homemade veggie or fruit chips (kale, apple, sweet potato, etc.)
