Losing Focus? 3 Steps to Get You Back on Track

Losing Focus? 3 Steps to Get You Back on Track

It is April now. By this point, your New Year's Resolution is well under way and you are SO CLOSE to the big goal you set for yourself on January 1st. Right? Believe it or not, most New Year's Resolutions are doomed for failure because you set TOO high of a goal. Who would have thought?? The Secret? Setting a series of small goals.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." ‐Lao Tzu

By setting a series of small easily attainable goals, you stay motivated to continue. Those easy goals will ultimately add up to you losing 50 pounds or competing in a Tough Mudder or feeling good in a bikini come summertime. The good news is it is never too late to start over!

Start with discovering your small steps to success. Instead of saying, "I want to go to the gym 5 days a week, cut out all sugar, chocolate, bread, potatoes, and dairy, say "I want to consistently get some form of exercise in 3 days a week and drink more water." Give it a couple weeks and once you have accomplished that, up the ante: "I want to start weightlifting and counting calories." A couple more weeks go by and you successfully got out of your comfort zone, weight trained 3 times each week, and you now know that on a typical day you eat around 1800 calories (or whatever it may be). At this point, going to the gym, drinking plenty of water, and counting calories should be habit! From this place it is easy to adjust things based on your goal. Lose weight? Take away food or add in cardio. Gain Weight? Add more food. Gain Muscle? Add in more protein and an extra day at the gym. YOU GOT THIS!

We get it though! Sometimes going to the gym and finding a routine you're comfortable with can be hard. Start simple: a yoga class, a spin class, a kickboxing class. Go to the park and run. Once you are comfortable carving time out, graduate to the gym. Did you know that most trainers at a gym offer a free or discounted rate for the first couple of times? Find a trainer to use for 1-2 times to get acclimated to a gym setting. Ultimately to build the lean sculpted look most of us want, weightlifting is definitely the way to go.

Now that we have the nitty gritty down, now it is time to talk SUPPLEMENTATION. Obviously here at ProSupps, we believe that proper supplementation is key to help boost your results and make your training much more enjoyable. But how do you know what is best for you!? Let's discuss. Pre-workout is the king here at ProSupps. Mr. Hyde brings you an effective dose of caffeine, Teacrine, Nitrosigine, Beta-Alanine, and Yohimbine for maximum energy, skin splitting pumps, and a nice sweat to make you feel like you put in the work. Dr. Jekyll dials back the caffeine so we can bring you maximum pumps and focus. "But PS, what do you mean by 'Pumps'??" When we say pump, we are referring to dilation of blood vessels in your body to help bring blood to the body part you are working out and help stimulate muscle growth and repair.

Everyone at one time or another has purchased a protein powder, but do you know why? Protein is the building block of muscle. It is an essential nutrient, and typically people get enough protein in their daily diet. However, when you start training your daily protein requirement will increase in order to support the increased stress on your body.

Check out this blog on choosing the right protein powder for your needs.

Next up is Amino Acids. If protein is the building blocks of muscle, then BCAAs are the building blocks of protein. All Amino Acids are essential, meaning our body cannot produce them on its own, we must consume them. Our product is different in that it has all of the BCAA (Amino Acids with a Branch chain molecular structure) PLUS a few extra Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) not typically found in an Amino Acid product. This ensures that you have all of the amino acids necessary for muscle growth and recovery.

Now don't get it twisted, we have a lot of supplements in our back pockets, but these three? These are what you need in order to hit the ground running and help reach your fitness goal.

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity." ‐John F. Kennedy
